Some of the many slang phrases used in the movie "Encino Man" which was my 13 year old son's movie choice for his birthday friend get together this year.

Since he hit the teen years, we decided to go less on the big theme parties and he hung out with his friends in front of the big screen for a showing of this classic 80's flick. My son is on a Pauly Shore high right now which I think is hysterical!! I am so glad that my kids enjoy the humor of comedians from a different era. This leads to a few movies worthy of seeing back then, Encino Man being one of them.

For anyone who has never seen this one, it is about 2 losers, Dave (Sean Astin...my childhood crush :) and Stoney (Pauly Shore) who find a caveman while digging a pool in the backyard...

Dave: "Stoney, there's a guy buried in my pool".

They clean him up, enroll him in school stating he is from Estonia and Dave guarantees that this find will give them the popularity he deserves, along with the girl...

Stoney: She finds you crusty Dave...

Trust me, watch this movie...classic comedy bits and the genius of Pauly Shore!

Now, being who I am, I couldn't let the party totally go without some sort of theme. Since we toned it down everywhere else, we at least threw the theme in on our food.

As the invitation stated: Come celebrate by munching of some grindage from the 4 basic food groups:





Dairy: Milk Duds. Keep on cruisin...










Fruit Group: Sweetarts. Keep on cruisin...








Vegetable Group: Corn Nuts





Pizza went over better than the Super "7" Mart burritos would have....

Stoney: Eewww....figures, warm on the outside, icy cold in the middle (2 minutes) :)

Don't think we left out the meat group though...remember there was one other item in the meat group.....






Stoney: Shoo fly...don't bother me, cause you belong to my friend Lynk. Gulp...Meat Group!!!

The flies (rubber of course) left their tracks all over the cupcakes and some even stuck around!

The boys and girls had a blast and the boys stayed after for his sleepover which kept me up until 3am. Not bad after a bit of caffeine...
